You want under 3 lbs and closer to 2 lbs. I go for down over synthetic as it has a better warmth to weight ratio. If you go down you want a minimum of 650 fill power and rated to 0 C. Don't get hung up on brand. You need a bag that fits your body and sleeping preference. Campers village is awesome as you can actually get in the bags at the store. They have some options for tall and wide as well which is a limiting factor in choices if it applies to you. On second thought if you going sheep hunting don't take a bag. Just suffer so you won't go again 😁
