Glasstops are a pain in the arse imo. constant cleaning and if the wrong chems or applicators are used they'll scratch and that an expensive fix.

When we renovated our kitchen and put in gas it was the best thought we had. I realize that's probably not an option for your rentals but a raised burner is the least problematic.

Just don't go white with appliances. Unless your cooking dinosaur meat. Black and SS add class.
