Yes, indeed. Reminds me of a lab (black) I used to own. I loaned him to an uncle for some goose shooting. This dog would look for birds coming in and (I swear) make sure you were looking, too. The first birds come in. Bang, bang, bang. Nothing falls. Dog looks at shooter. One of those long, dog looks. Next batch of birds come in. Bang, bang. Nothing falls.
My uncle looks down and the dog is gone. He's headed home at a slow trot. No look back. Just went home.
It's pretty bad when your dog gives up on you.
