Drop the attitude, it was a suggestion. Whatever you want to read into a suggestion is your prerogative but with responses like that I think I know who the real problem is now. Maybe take a couple of breaths and pause for 30 seconds before you speak to the neighbor next time. You'd be amazed how manys more choices might come to you...
