This is akin to asking a golfer to pick one club or a woman to pick one pair of shoes!!! That said for myself it would be a modern 6.5 x 55 like Salavee related. The velocities, accuracy, and terminal results are legendary. A close 2nd would be a 9.3 x 62 (you can walk into and out of a lot of situations with this old gal). I have soft spots for the 358win, 338federal, and 275 rigby. I have used a lot of 30cal over the years with great success, but they fall short when you take an honest look @ 6.5, 7mm, and 9.3 calibers...my .02
