That's just what happens. First infection rates go up. Second hospital admissions rates go up. Third people get moved from medical wards to ICU for advanced care as their organ systems falter. Fourth in ICU they improve or they die.
Number 4 can take a long time. When a hospital becomes 100% full, like many in Texas are, it becomes necessary to decide if yo want to put anymore time and effort into flogging a patient that will most likely die any ways.
