I had a rental ecoboost for a couple weeks recently. I wasn’t a fan of the number of times that engine started and stopped at red lights. At the time I was wondering how long the starter would last but it’s likely not doing the turbos any favours either.

I think half pickereled makes a good point about turbos on gas engines not getting the same amount of respect a diesel might. Cold starts, hot shutdowns.

Out of curiosity, in what way did the turbos fail?
Welcome to the new norm for vehicles. Have a 17 Cherokee and an 18 F150, both have the auto start stop feature and it’s the first thing I disable when driving in town. Love both vehicles a lot, just don’t like they shut off every time you stop...
