From personal experience. I was hunting and had put my license in my shirt pocket, changed shirts and didn't move the license over, of course thats the day I got stopped and checked after realizing I didn't have my license or tags the officer took my ID, checked the computor, confirmed I actually did have a valid license and wrote me up a warning citation. I felt very stupid and very fortunate and am grateful to the discretion of the officer. bottom line, they have the ability to confirm on the spot if you have a license or not
