Bears are tremendously hard on elk, moose and deer fawns and calves. When you have a dozen different bears hitting a bait you are doing the ungulates a big favor taking some of them out.
Hope your son has just a great time. I remember how excited I was when I was young and got to go hunting with my dad. These are memories neither of you will ever forget.
