No not a bad thing. But us levergun guys sure don’t have a lot to choose from when it comes to centerfire levergun platforms that can shoot spitzer style bullets safely and the BLR is already out there. As for “bush gun” I shoot a Savage 99 in .308 and I don’t feel this set up falls into “bush gun” category. It’s a 250 to 300 yarder for me. Now this is my bush gun.

An awful lot of big game was killed with the .30-06 including the big bears before everyone became affluent enough to own a rifle for every species of game they might hunt.
