I have a Winchester 70 30-06 that I bought used when I was 19 years old and it served me well for more than 35 years. Shot many a moose with it and have lots of stories to go with it as well. A few years ago, I bought a Sako 85, 300 wsm. It is stainless steel, synthetic stock with a Leupold VX-3, 4.5-14X scope. Nice rifle that is lighter, shoots faster, flatter and is even a bit more accurate and precise than my Winchester. At the same time, I don't trust it as much so I keep my 06 close by just in case, and I make sure it is ready to go should I need it. I haven't needed the Winchester yet, going on 4 years. I have to admit, the Sako is super reliable, so far....but I just can't leave my 06 at home and that is the way it is.
