Only you know the ranges you are likely to be shooting at but I found 265 yds zero to be ideal for most any of the common hunting cartridges with the bullet weights you will likely be using. That is the zero I set on my 7STW/160 and also the zero I have on my .35 Whelen /250 gr. and 338-06/ 210 gr, and 30-06 180 gr and the various 6.5's /140 gr. If, for some reason you have to thread the needle, it's much easier to judge a 3" low hold at 50 or 75 yds than to judge a 10"+ high hold at 600 or 700 yds or more . That's just my approach to sight in. You know the drill on BDC reticles and spinning turrets.
