And in my case, "protection" became the flavor of the day, when picking spring beaver on a dam set, a bear came on to the dam, between myself and the quad...where my "protective "rifle was..needless to say, I exited, stage left and had to make a big circle, hoping the bear was feeding on my beaver, with no thoughts of me.. Several years prior, a bear came upon me when I was doing the same thing but not from the quad side..that was strike ..one and two...not gonna be a third time. No problem since then, guess he knows that dude is packing and is not to be "f" with.. That is when I got my handgun...
PS.. Bearspray is fine if you can get the wind to change direction when you need it to..
