They didn't ban the hunt.. you just have to eat the meat. The same law has applied to BC black bears for awhile. I've harvested a black bear in BC and I plan on harvesting a Grizz in the future. Nothing wrong with making some pepperoni!

I think "meat hunts" is an euphemism for indigenous hunting.
