All my friends back in the Old Country (Sask) still carry this way as that is how their Enfield totin fathers taught them.
I'm confused, exactly what do you mean with
"carrying like this"?

Cartridge chambered & safety on?

Or uncocked on a chambered round, as Billy advocated?
