Some people drink and drive, so drinking and driving laws are obviously having zero effect and should be gotten rid of. That's the essence of your argument.
As I pointed out, if you were right EVERY criminal would have fully automatic weapons. Why don't they? It's clear that prohibition has some impact. They just aren't
that easy to get.
