We were out at Canyon creek this past Saturday March 10.

On the ice at 8AM and we didn't have our first fish on the ice till about 12pm.

No flood water present.

Best action for us was about 20mins between 230-300PM. Caught our limit.

Unfortunately, the walleye were skinny and pale.

Five things to keep in mind:

  1. Bring 2 extensions as there is 40" of ice (1 spare just in case)
  2. 4x4 only and stay on the trail, you will get stuck/need chains to go off trail
  3. Travel in pairs, take two trucks if possible as this will help if one gets stuck
  4. Hurricane like winds always at Slave, so dress warm if not in shack
  5. Bring a couple good shovels, I was stuck twice in a 3/4 ton.

Be safe,
Tight lines out there!
