That's how I did the last one and how I will do the next whether from Canada or the US
One thing missing here, on that little form you have to fill out that states what you are bringing back, there is no spot for a purchase of a dog and it does need to be claimed. You will check off you have a pet and they almost always catch you bought it in the states because of the vaccination location and the dogs age, you need to claim the value of the dog or risk it being seized.
