A tractor-trailer unit heading east on Highway 2 collided head-on with a minivan and then another car that were travelling in the opposite direction, Mounties said Wednesday. The collision happened at the western end of the Peace River Bridge deck around 8:30 p.m.
The male driver of the minivan was killed in the crash. An adult female passenger suffered serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries and was taken to a local hospital.
An 11-year-old boy, who was a passenger in the car, was taken to Stollery Children’s Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the car suffered serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries and was taken to a local hospital before being sent to Edmonton.
The driver and lone occupant of the tractor-trailer unit suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
