Whatever you do, buy a RUSSIAN SKS. THe wood on the Chinese models will scratch if you look at it! Also the workmanship is much better! Head to Milarm in Edmonton pick one up for cheap (they range from 175-400$ but the only difference is the direction of the grain in the stock!), they also give a discount on cases of ammo if you've ever bought an SKS from them before.
