LOL my thoughts as well.

Tanner, you will get recommendations for a myriad of calibers, because everyone has a favourite. Generally they all work. You can effectively use anything that's legal, from the .243 on up, though many would say the lower end is "iffy" for elk (you have to be more cautious and deleiberate with your shots, from what I've heard anyway. never tried myself). I would say that from .270 on up no one is going to say that you shouldn't use it or that it won't be effective on the game you identified. Go as high in calibre as you like as long as you can handle the recoil and shoot effectively.

So have fun with the 27 pages of comments you are about to read. "What caliber is best for..." is the KING of threads on this board. LOL
