My GSP is the same , will point if he see's big game or a coyote at a distance. Then he will keep looking back at me for instructions, he actually does the same when someone is approaching us in a field with another dog also. He won't chase, just stares and then looks back at me for the 'NO' command.. ha-ha.. The e-collar really conditioned him not to chase, He turns 2 this month and I don't use the e-collar anymore.
