Another thread got me thinking about ice travel and things that catch people off guard. The Marina is one. Being used frequently to access the lake but now into March, the plus temps during the day, direct sunlight on the Marina structure well it gets very unstable quickly with the ice getting thin real quick in and around that structure.
PP is an access area I use often and that boat launch can be questionable too. Talked to a fella a few weeks ago and he said he dropped his front end in at the launch when going off the ice yet others had no problem this was a few years ago. Well your speed approaching the shore can actually blow the ice up in front of you resulting in a wet vehicle at the least so slow down.
March madness can be just that.
