Make sure you are using the correct tool as well; whether screwdriver or torx you want a tight fit not simply something close....If it jumps out, this may become the beginning of a bigger problem.
Another thing that has worked for me is in conjunction with heating it up like Cat and Elk11 stated; is to put the screwdriver in the slot (make sure the gun is solid and in a firm rest) take a hammer an tap the end of the screwdriver and this can also loosen the threads....
You may only have a couple of tries so be careful and patient.
