If you got a park pass, Elk Island all the way. My kid and his 2 friends cut their teeth there as it was free for 12 & under. The staff don't push you as they know it is more for kids, beginners and duffers. Nice 9 hole Couse and you can eat there after.
I golfed that course with my parents before they fenced it off. Used to see Buffalo, Elk and everything else on the fairways.
The city has some nice par 3 courses to practice the irons on, Rundle and Kinsmen.
