I have a rifle in 30-06 that prefers the bullet I use to be seated to 0.230 off the lands. Had an old Ruger that also had a lot of free bore. My Howa has more than the norm. Heard weatherby, as mentioned above, has always been built that way. An old Brno that probably had more than anything I’ve read or seen.
In all the hunting rifles I’ve loaded for(not many compared to some members here), I’ve only had one that liked to be about 0.015-0.030 off the lands (and that was early in my reloading and I didn’t try much farther).

I ignore all the chasing the lands stuff I read and just let the rifles tell me what they like with that specific bullet.
