I've been using the Gilette big clam shell package of disposables that you get from Costco, I think there is 52 razors in a package.
Lasts me for years so long as you keep the blades really clean and don't let them get gummed up with your fur. Like someone else said, lots and lots of hot water.
It' s pretty inexpensive and they shave pretty well.
I will try that arm sharpening thing though, never heard of that idea before. Thanks for posting that video.
