I once went up 6 hours through hell going after goats with my heavy barrel .308 I built up for a bear rifle. Packed it around for a week then hiked down in 4 hours. Wasn’t planning on taking it up but decided to last minute and I didn’t bring my mountain rifle. It weight 9 lbs with 4 rounds, I didn’t notice it being heavy at all. But that’s just me.
Exactly! If you are concerned with rifle weight make sure you have a sling that distributes the weight to you comfortably and you arn't packing a spare tire.
