This is all fine and dandy. How heavy do you want this rig to be? See, I would pack a rifle over 9lbs all up after sheep or elk. I prefer 8lbs and 7 would be better.
I'd use a 308 Norma Mag. Throat it for 200 or 210gr LR.
.300 Win Mag would be the second choice.
I'd build it on a titanium action, use a Wildcat stock and probably a Proof light Sendaro barrel for kicks. Top it with a Swaro Z5 3.5-18.
