Default Antelope hunt 2018

Well the hunt started off with a few hours scouting on Sunday afternoon before the opener.
We seen a few herds but not any real shooter bucks. Opening morning we found hunters were everywhere. Seemed like all my hot spots from 12 yrs prior were everyone else’s hot spots. Lol
It turns out there was a massive die off during the winter and according to the game warden a lot of does and mature bucks never made the long winter. Well that wasn’t the news I wanted to hear but we had to make the best of it.
On Day 3 Dad spotted a herd and I managed to get out in front of the herd And connected on a decent buck. Feel very fortunate to have connected on a decent buck as after 3 days seemed like it was going to be slim pickings. The goat has a 14” horn and 14” spread.
It was a good hunt and spent some priceless time with my Dad (Now 76 and eyes like a hawk) who took me on my first hunt down in this same zone 30 yrs ago.
