The Bow is unfishable maybe 10 days a year (not including days below -5C, where it is technically still fishable, just somewhat frustrating). 3 or 4 of those days are when the weather warms up for the first time.

If I were a betting man, I would predict the Bow would be a wall of slush on Sunday/Monday. It has been surprisingly cold in Calgary and we an Edmonton-like amount of snow. There will definitely be a couple of unfishable days over the next 10 days, but it is hard to predict when it will start.

The other unfishable days are couple days before the river crests during run-off and the odd day following a torrential rainstorm.

I would recommend waiting until next weekend before making the 6 hour round trip. By next Friday, the terrestrial snow melt, river break up, and ice shelves will probably stabilize.
