Yeah cuz 99% of all hikers, fishermen, campers, etc all hike in areas that allow guns and they're all completely proficient in placing a perfect shot within seconds of being charged.
Using your logic, he should've been carrying a rocket launcher or flame thrower. That'd be more effective than a gun, no?
Ever heard of a guy being attacked while carrying a flame thrower? Neither have I. It must work.
