The ads you see with unreasonable prices are the ones that don't move. Any of the better deals are often gone within an hour, sometimes much less. There are enough guys with sufficient disposable income who know what's what to make it very difficult to find a good deal if you just check the forum once a week.
For example, a recent PM discussion on CGN with a guy offering a pre-64 model 70 for a very reasonable price went like this (I'm paraphrasing):
10:00 am- Gun put up for sale.
10:09 am- Me- "Hi, is that a peep sight base mounted on the receiver?"
10:10 am- Seller- "Yes it is."
10:12 am- Me- "Makes an offer"
10:13 am- Seller- "Sorry, it just sold."
Them's the breaks.
