With a 308 at those distances you likely wont be able to be keeping the bullet inside the yote like varmint bullets in your 223 so your best bet is a controled expantion hunting bullet.
Cant help much on the reloading end as im just starting to get loads for my 308. Imr 4895 is a great 308 powder if you have any.
