I agree people would like a leader who is direct and not scripted - but they also want a intelligent and strategic leader as well. This guys a time bomb.

There are a few. John Kasich and Scott Walker, Ben Carson, Huckabee to name a few that seem to be rather straight talkers.
As has been said already, Trump's popularity at the moment, regardless of his antics, is demonstrating just how sick and tired people are of the Washington establishment on both sides and politicians in general. Everything has gotten completely out of hand crazy.
