That is why the 190 was fitted with a rail, so it could be slung up for match rifle competition, but still be used in sporting rifle competition.
The 64 action was fitted with a heavier barrel in that stock originally that would not make weight for sporting rifle , it was made for match competition.
All that was needed to do was put the lighter barrel on it to make weight.

My 190 had the same stock as the 64MS but had the lighter barrel. It had the rail as well. I used a 54 MS for silhouttes. I should have never sold it but detached retena sort of ended a lot of shooting. The only Anshutz I have left is a 520. I enjoy your knowledge of the Anshutz family Cat. I remember you posting some of your pictures of a few of the strange ones you have in one of our conversations here a year or so ago.
