Caribou are either there or they are not. A guide will not get you a big caribou just because your being guided. But if you don't know how to judge them, that is where the guide would be handy.
Bulls don't travel any different places than the cows when they are migrating. Chambeaux had 32 hunters that week at various camps and my friend took the biggest bull out of 62 caribou that week and it was shot 80yds behind the cabin so they can be anywhere and nobody knows what is coming over the next hill. If you have a strong back or two and can cape, you don't need a guide. Most likely though there will be a camp manager there to make sure your boat works and you make it back safe each night.
