made a mistake on this little buck. i was down to just my supplemental doe tag and went out to fill it. saw a couple nice bucks that i had to pass on and near last light came across what i thought was a doe. was standing broadside and both my partner and i glassed it and saw no horn. turns out it had some wierd deformed spikes and the way it was standing we could not see the little spike hiding behind his ear and the other spike was away from us, hidden by head. when we walked up to it i still put my supplemental tag on it. felt bad about the mistake, and though one spike was more then 4" i was not going to let it go to waste. those little spikers can fool you.
would appreciate not getting flamed for this honest mistake but from the pics. you can see how hard it was to see the bone.
