I have had a Remington 700 chamber for 30:06 for over 30 years, damned near 35, and love the gun. Versatile caliber, nice to shoot, accurate enough on factory loads, goes anywhere does anything kind of gun. Having said that, I bought my son a T3 chambered for 30:06 (his choice) and now want a T3 for myself! Just to scratch that itch I'll likely buy a T3 chambered for 243 and use it for a deer gun in the years that I don't get a draw for moose or elk. The T3 has the smoothest action I've ever seen.
