I take dog in the truck and sometimes if I shoot grouse she is retrieving. I just make sure I don't have rifle in my hands when she is out.
I talked to F@W officer about it and he said it is good to go.
And don't feel bad for road hunting. Is not illegal.
I road hunt sometimes as well.
