There was wind warnings again for our area today so I decided to check out the creek valley that runs along a feedlot. This area is sheltered and the coyotes seem to hang out in that area on windy days. The wind wasn't as severe as they fore-casted but it was still fair brisk and snowing. Spotted this coyote bedded down at the base of a hill and the range finder showed 213 yards. I shot the coyote were it lay and at the report of the rifle spooked another coyote that was close by. Never had time for a shot at the second coyote though.
