Who got new rifles for 2011?
 

So who has bought new hunting rifles for this comming seasons? And what did you get?

Mine is still being built.....McMillan stock just arrived a few days ago and is being sent to the gunsmith today!

Heres what it will be:

Rem Model 7 in 7SAUM
McMillan Mtn Rifle w/ no checkering (tan with webbing) - Bedded
Slabbed Action
Bolt Handle Skeletonized
Tuned Trigger
PTG Bolt Shroud and Pin Assembly
Talley LW's
Leupold VXIII 2.5-8x36 w/ M1 elevation turret

Will have it cerakoted black either before or after the season.

May flute the bbl or replace, depending on how it shoots when its done. Running the factory bbl when it comes back from the smith.

Its not in the near future for me . Heck I just want to try your new one out and maybe be able to hit something...Must be like waiting for Christmas morning right now hey !! Just a couple more days Darcy.....

Yep, cant wait till Sat. Checking out the .257Roberts to trade for my .270WSM around Lunch time and then go to the Sheep Banquet in the evening and get to see my finished .280AI. So yep a touch like X-Mas!!!!

It's not a new rifle but it's new to me... a .54 Jonathan Browning mountain rifle. Hoping to get a deer or elk with it this fall.

And if by hunting you include gophers, then we also got a new .22 Savage BTVS

I have a Cooper Jackson Hunter in 7mmstw on order, as well as a Cooper Model 54 Phoenix in 260rem.

Got a 375 barrel for my Blaser R93 comming!!!!

I hope to see a completely new set of rifles by mid August. :)

I posted a picture of a really nice looking "sporterized" .303 enfield awhile back. I got lots of pms asking where it was and some posts asking the same.

So never having owned a .303 rifle I went ahead and bought it.

Then I bought a .303 enfield in its working cloths. My son-in-law is doing a masters degree in Canadian Military history. He is a vet having done a tour in Afghanistan. I thought he may enjoy having owning the rifle that Canadians soldiers carried in so many conflicts. I showed it to him, we shot it and when permitted he will own it. (he is working on getting his PAL)

Then a friend (a couple actually) who knew I was looking for a Win. M70 in 6.5X55 pointed me toward one. I bought it.
It will probably be given to my daughter to hunt with to replace the .243 she has been using.

Well, I picked up a Remington 700 XHR in .300 Win Mag, put a Kahles 3-9 x 42on it, haven't shot it yet, but soon. And then just a week ago I picked up a Remington 700 VLSS with thumbhole stock in .22-250, waiting for my scope to show up so I can get it set up and shooting too.....looking forward to getting both of them out.

Haven't got it yet, but I'm going to win the 270 wsm at the sheep banquet on Saturday. :sHa_shakeshout::sHa_shakeshout::sHa_shakeshout:

Bought a Savage Weather Warrior in 7 Rem. Haven't shot it yet but next weekend will be the day.

I am hoping to have a custom built soon. I have an e-mail in to one of the members here that is a gunsmith and we'll go from there. I hope you like yours SG as I am looking at the same fella and awaiting his return e-mail.

I also have a "new to me", does that count? It's from my Father-in-law and its an older Savage in 7mm RemMag, not too sure which model.
I will put new glass on it for sure.

Will possibly be in the market for a new stock as well, the one it has now is okay but there is a little "button thingy" on the side that has popped off, anyone know how to fix one of these?

Have a sako AV action and Mcmillan stock sitting doing nothing thinking of a 257 STW to go with my 7mm STW build on same action and stock.

It's not done yet but, Remington 700 trued, Gaillard 1-8" 6mm barrel chambered in 6mmBR 26" finished length and McMillian A-5. Pretty pumped for this!

Let's see, a new Ugartechea model 75 SXS with side locks in 28GA.,
an original Pre-1900 Winchester Shuetzen rifle,
a 1907 vintage Parker 12 on a lightweight frame,
Of course the 6mmBR on the Ruger No.1 action,
a CZ hammer classic in 12bore with 30" barrels

Blaser makes a great rifle and they are unique with the slideing bolt.what model is your R93?

My dad had a black synthetic R93 in a 270 win.one of the rifles he of coarse regrets selling.

I will be getting a .264 Win Mag. I have a magnum bolt face and don't need anything bigger than my 7 Rem so that is what I am after.

I figure that I can do some long stuff with the 6.5 bullets and their great ballistic coefficients. That and it should be a great hunting cartridge.

My buddy was looking for cz 375 I found them for 1100.oo ,he picks it up on tuesday,I told the wife Ill check his out before I buy one ,you know the rest of the story.

I bought a TC at the end of last season, so i guess it is new for this year and hoping it will have an elk in its scope this season...

just got a tikka t3 300 win mag 2 days ago!

I have a few new ones, but am trying to finish some started projects this year instead of starting more. :scared:
