Dries for bow sept
I was fishing the bow the other day and around 5:30 pm there was fish rising absolutely everywhere it was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen and I could not for the life of me figure out what they were eating I tried small caddis BWO PMD trico spinner and they wouldn’t eat anything I was using 5x mono so I don’t think that was the problem I ended up tying on a caddis pupa and swinging it and caught a little bow but I could not for the life of me figure them out. Any ideas anyone?

Really tough to give a good answer without being there. I carry a small aquarium net with me to seine the water in cases like that. The rise-forms sometimes will give thing away also. They may be in addition taking emergers just under the surface so a low riding fly or one just under the surface is in order.

Awesome thanks I figured maybe it was emergers

I usually spend much more time looking and trying to translate what Trout are feeding on before fishing. I also carry a pair of binoculars with me to watch for snouts of rising fish.

Hoppers and stimulators are my tickets during the warm fall days.
