New to archery-questions

Hi guys!
I just bought a new compound bow. Could anyone give me a rough idea of what the maintenance you should do? Any tips or tricks for a new archer?
Thanks in advance

Im not using as profesional with compound, i just using recurve and my exp is you should change the string after 6 month used

Wax your string periodically and inspect it frequently, if it starts to fray or you don't trust it then change it. Same with your arrows, flex them often , you don't want to have one blow up on you. Go around your bow with an Allen wrench before you go hunting and tighten everything up, trust me you'll be glad you did when the trophy of a lifetime steps out and you realize your arrow rest came loose .

Thank you!
One thing I forgot to mention before Is that I bought the bow from Jim Bows, and I had extremely good service there!

Drop by that shop and have them tune it up periodically. Ask questions about what they did, research how to do it.

Can't go wrong with Jim Bows, they treat you like gold when you step through the door, they seem to realize that friendly service will lead to repeat sales.

Yup! They truly treat you incredibly. The man who served me was Samson Vaskor. Very nice guy.

How periodically?

All depends on how much you shoot your bow. I shoot a couple times a week throughout the year and a lot more once August comes. I get it checked over once a year and strings replaced after 2 years. It all really depends on your set up and how much you shoot though. Some strings stretch more than others. They can check simple things like cam lean and timing throughout the year as well. Hope that helps.

The only maintenance you as a shooter has to do is was strings frequent, avoid wax where cams and wheel [cable guard] make contact with string...work in wax well...cheapest maintenance and insurance for a bow...

Cheap bow clean as possible...blow dust and dirt off occasionally ...

Have bow technician check bow after string settles to re-spec tune bow [couple hundred arrows] and inspect it every year or so...most don't charge if bought there so its easy...
