Tools to make contacting government about C-71 easier
 

I've invested the effort in building a contact database for members of government, as well as various tools to make personal direct-mail campaigns feasible to do. I've put them up on my blog page and made them available for use.

With these, I hope to enable and encourage members of the community to share their thoughts on Bill C-71 with the government, MPs of various caucuses, members of the Standing Committee on Public Safety (who will be discussing C-71 mid-May). I’ve built the solutions in these links to follow along the continuum of tech-savviness across the community, so pick the solution you’re most comfortable with have at it!

Good work!!! Letters to the SECU reps are the ones needed now. Nathalie Provost of Poly Souvient needs to be thrown off the CFAC committee, she lobbied for them before being appointed to the CFAC, then was supposed to give that up when she was appointed. She is another zealot in the vein of Sarah Brady and Wendy Cukier. There is a direct correlation from her lobbying efforts to C71, some of the language is nearly word for word, that direct info trail has been published by CCFR and is on their Facebook site, along with a video on You tube. She wanted a lot more than she got, but---she got a lot of it in. She is promoting that the RCMP and the CFAC get to run classification without Parliamentary overrule authority.

Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner Mario Dion has no jurisdiction over the activities of lobbyists, nor does he have oversight of the Canadian Firearms Advisory Committee. Commissioner Dion administers the Conflict of Interest Code for Members of the House of Commons and the Conflict of Interest Act for public office holders at the federal level, namely ministers, parliamentary secretaries, ministerial staff and Governor in Council appointees. Both regimes deal specifically with conflict of interest, with the focus largely on ensuring that Members and public office holders do not use their positions to further their private, largely pecuniary, interests or the private interests of their relatives (and friends, in the case of the Act) or to improperly further the private interests of anyone else.

The Office of the Lobbying Commissioner is responsible for advising lobbyists on how to comply with the Lobbyists’ Code of Conduct and the Minister of Public Safety is responsible for the Canadian Firearms Advisory Committee. You may wish to contact the Lobbying Commissioner or the Minister of Public Safety in order to express your concerns.

This video is well worth the time to watch, it explains a lot of the thought behind c71 and the problems and costs with its implementation, thoughts about the procedures need to be processed on PAL/RPAL background checks, firearms transfers, a few legal proceedings in progress.

Ya, I am not real computer literate here, tried to load it as the original PPTx, converted to PDF as well, only other way I can think of, that I know anything about, is to down load all the pics individually and reconstruct it to be able to post it. Hoping there is an easier way that someone else may know about, other than Photobucket, which I don't really want to use.

I like to write letters to Liberal MPs posing as a long-time Liberal supporter (NOT!! I just threw up a 'lil 🤢 ) in their riding and let them know that I am very disappointed in the performance of this government and in particular(insert latest Liberal lunacy proposed Bill here) and that if they vote to approve(C-71 for example) I will be voting Conservative in 2019. 😝
