BC turkeys

Hey all tips on hunting turkeys would be great, heading down to the edgewater area may 12th to 14th. Never hunted them before definitely looking forward to it, have a few smaller places to look around. Was wondering will they respond to calls in mid may? Thanks
Darrell

Can't say if birds live as far north as Edgewater. Only downside to those dates is they are at the end of the season so birds have been pressured, but longbeards are vocal to some degree until june so mid-may is still a good time.

I've spent a fair amount of time in that area, both east and west of 95, I don't remember seeing any sign of turkey that far north, but any time spent outdoors is a good time.

There is turkeys in that area, some nice Toms as well, the majority of the land North of Radium along the highway is Private property, if you have an in to access some of it, you may be in luck. Didn't stop some people last year and they shot them any way with out permission.

Skookumchuk area

Anyone have any exp scouting birds down near Skookumchuk, Premier Lake area?
Heading down in a couple weeks for our first turkey hunt.
According to Google earth, lots of older cut blocks with trails/ dirt roads.

Just wondering if anyone has any experience down there. If we should expect lots of hunters? Mostly cruising the roads?
