Ugh uh.
NO.

Put an ice cube out on your front step for a bit and see how soft it gets. That's how the lakes are. Walk on only!
|
I doubt the ice is really safe to drive on anywhere. Definitely do not even contemplate trying to drive over cracks or heaves.
|
You should be fine. Just stay near shore but not near any reeds. If you didn't read this I'll bet you drove on when you saw a bunch of other vehicles out :)
FYI, I have not driven out yet on any lake so, as always, your chance to take regardless of what you see. Of course stay away from the heaves like Zip posted in another thread. They have separated in a few inches in some cases and likely even more in others. Any one dares to drive across a good heave after this weather we had....good luck to you. Hope you have a good one out there. |
Quads ok?
|
Theres been trucks on since it opened lol..I drove on multiple times now..im sure quads will be fine. But as always use caution when not familiar with the ice ;)
|
I need another week of -10 or colder before I would drive on. Ice is week with the winds blowing it around and creating cracks and stress in it. Need all cracks and heaves to freeze solid.
Costs major $ to remove a vehicle that goes in, never mind the cost of such vehicle if your insurance company won't pay. Not worth your life. |
