I golf Vulcan quite a bit. Only 9 as the back 9 sucks.

My favourite course is Fernie, but my parents say the courses around Kimberley are even better

Ken07AOVette 05-23-2018 05:09 PM

Lloyd G&CC didn't go last year, year before 40 rounds, missed the previous year, 56 rounds the year before.
Apparently this is the year to go again.
I am hoping I have forgotten all my bad habits. :thinking-006:
Drumheller would be my favorite so far, too damn hot to play whak-you-know-what in Hawaii. Maybe when I am old.

Played coal creek on the weekend. I think I might have a new favourite course!

The Cook 05-23-2018 05:13 PM

Golfing Fernie on Friday and Blairmore on Saturday. Anybody from the pass know what kind of shape the courses are in? June 9 at Canmore GCC

Golf

Never played since 6 years..

Rockjockey 05-23-2018 05:48 PM

Jamie,
I've golfed The Ranch, The Links, Northern Bear and Coal Creek (3X). Coal Creek by far has been the best yet. Another couple weeks and I will have my VIP card paid for.

I golf Dorchester, Black Bull, and Glen Eagles in Cochrane.. As well as pigeon lake but only because I have to...I wouldn't waste any green fees to come to pigeon to play, pick somewhere else, trust me it's bad!!!
Oh and Cochrane has the best by far this year, go play that one from the silver tees.. Just sayin, good luck!
Zip:)

K-Country Mt Kidd is my fav. Always has been. A very special place for me.

Jamie 05-23-2018 07:09 PM

My golf history at one time was big..
Then I got married........
Year before I got married.. 72 rounds...
I was married for 17 years and I hadn't played in 10 years...
So after the marriage came to a end I decided to get back at it.
I managed a great deal out at Highwood for 20 rounds at a cost of $300. Only catch is you have to T off between 2-4 any day of the week (including weekends)

It's coming back. I was only able to play 9 holes last weekend but still managed a 42.. I am happy if 18 comes in under 100. Even at my best, I had a tough time breaking 90.
I have noticed that my irons and driver do not go near as far. It seems I have lost 2 clubs in every thing.

But the enjoyment is still there. Its so nice being out again.
I spent a bit of time this afternoon looking at Kananaskis again toady.. I really can't wait..

If anyone around Calgary wants to come one day, Get in touch. Same with if you have a opening.

Retired from forestry in March, took a job at Trestle Creek doing maintenance on the golf course. One of the perks is I get free golf. Beautiful course. Try to get 3 or 4 rounds of 18 holes a week in.

Played there 4 times last year, love that course.

Check me if I'm wrong, Sandy, but if I kill all the golfers, they'll lock me up and throw away the key.

Sorry, had to do it! :)

Well played!

Take the extra couple of hours drive and go to Panorama. Grey Wolf is my favorite course so far. Lots of relief, great views, and wintertime lifties run the beer carts.

Fantastic course.. I played it years ago.
I used to really like Copper point as well.
Fairmont Mountain side was my very first "Real" course when I was a Kid.

Rivers Edge by Okotok's is priced reasonable and nice course. Won't spend my money in BC anymore so Alberta and Montana are the golf destinations.

This is soooo true. If you have the time Kimberley is a great trip with so many great courses in one area. We went this spring before everything was open here and loved it.
Shadow Mountain
Wildstone
Bootleg Gap
Trickle Creek
Kimberley G&CC
ST. Eugene
All within about 35 mins of each other and very reasonable prices compared to what you pay to play some of the goat tracks in AB.

Wildstone has a Sunday skins game for $60 includes 18, cart, skins pot and supper.

^Very excellent choice in words!

Yep, Whitefish North was OK too. Eagle Ranch was good (although I was running on 2 hours sleep and didn't golf well). Wilderness club just West of Eureka in Montana is fun.

Locally, Livingstone is a fun little 9 hole track (used to be cheap to walk - $25) that's located in Sibbald Flats area. Just tried Apple Creek North of Aidrie on the weekend - not fun in heavy wind. Loved Harvest Hills before they shut it down for a quick round within city limits; need to find something else. Boulder Creek in Langdon is good (bring mosquito protection)

Full on golf nut here, and hoping to play the Kananaskis courses this year.
I'm lucky enough to be a member at the Jasper Park Lodge Golf Course.

I got to destroy my bucket list this year by going to The Masters - what an experience!
https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/K1...UbbC0Kjw=w2400
...and last fall I got to play a round on Kauai at Poipu Bay Golf Course.

^ sweet !! :)

ETOWNCANUCK 05-24-2018 10:10 PM

I'v conquered the best holes and courses that golf has to offer.

P.C.
Nintendo
X-Box
and Playstation.

Everything from Arnold Palmer, To Tiger Woods, to Rory Mcilroy and some other silliness just for fun.

I think the Nintendo WII version where you need to actually swing the controller is best.

Some times the play by play guy can really be rude.
But when you hit a good shot he lets you know.

Thank you, Doug. You know, I saw Doug playing yesterday. And I've got to tell you, this guy spends more time on the sand than David Hasselhoff.
