when ice season ends

hey all i was just curious as to when the ice season ends how do you put the power gas augers for storage? anything like an outboard motor? besides running stabile in the fuel is there any other nick nacks to do?

I drain my gas and run what's left of it out.

Run stabilizer through it, but don't let it run dry.

unscrew the bottle and stand it in the corner :bad_boys_20:

Try to decipher through several opposing opinions about how to store your auger lol. Best bet is to read the instruction manual for your auger and follow manufacturers directions, I did.....

i bought my auger like 10+ years ago and i havent a clue where the manual is now. hehehehe i normally empty the gas out of the fuel tank and store it fuel tank facing up. never had any issues yet except i bumped the gas cap on something and bent it so i have to hunt down a new gas cap for it. but i love my jiffy 30 old school, still running really strong.

Manuals for just about everything are readily available online. Here's a link to a manual for the jiffy 30, including storage instructions:

HA! I did the same thing and had a leaky cap for a few years (used a plastic bag under the cap to stop leaks in transit). Found a replacement cap last week at TFH and my 1995 Strikemaster III is good as new. I just drain it and run it dry since '95....

My Jiffy is at least 15 yrs old. Every year it gets put away with a full tank, right to the top. Once every month during the summer when I'm in the shed I turn it over a few times with the switch off to lube the cylinder etc. I drain the fuel when winter comes and start with new. The old fuel becomes fire starter. Still starts up real quick and runs great. My non mixed fuel toys get stabilizer added when they are going to sit for a while.

cool thanks for the link to the jiffy 30 manual. hey wayne i can't take the bottle off because my jiffy is still naturally aspirated and didn't put NOS nitros oxide on it yet, i was leaning more towards a turbo.lol
