Access at Narrows

Does anybody know if you can get out in truck? Wanting to head up tomorrow and don't want to drive a long distance and not be able to.

7magtime 03-20-2017 09:09 PM

I am curious how you access the Narrows at Slave as well. PM's welcome, thanks.

Dragless 03-21-2017 10:02 AM

You go in from kinuso pass the tracks and keep going acceess is fine for trucks

7magtime 03-21-2017 11:55 AM

Thanks for that info, any fishing reports from anyone that has been out recently?

Dragless 03-21-2017 05:43 PM

Its the end of march........ the fish are biting lol you would have to do something seriously wrong to get skunked right now.

7magtime 03-21-2017 06:57 PM

Yeah figured so, thanks! :happy0180:

Appreciate the info, I put mine on as well in case I need it....

Extension is a must. Some very big drifts out near the shacks, don't wanna put a truck on top of one of them....And i always carry a GPS when going on and off the lake. Visibility from blowing snow can be less than 20-30
Yards on a blue sky day! Fishing has been much slower this year for our group than years past. Still a good time just not near our usual numbers.

7magtime 03-24-2017 12:16 PM

Agreed, don't think I would have got through without the extension today....

sns2 03-24-2017 12:29 PM

How are they biting?

dfrobert 03-24-2017 12:52 PM

7magtime, how did you make out? Headed up today until Sunday for last kick at the can and pulling shack off.

Last couple weeks have been very slow for us. This whole year rather slow actually. Way more pressure on there than normal. Not much mid day action. Half decent bite at sundown and sunrise.

7magtime 03-24-2017 12:54 PM

Pretty quiet so far.....Some coming in to check out what I have to offer but not taking it so far.

7Mag - Did you end up at the Narrow's? How was fishing?
I have a crew of 5 youngsters I was going to try and get out tomorrow for one last fish and I was think of trying the Narrows.
Thanks

why is it that as soon it gets a little warm people think the ice is gone,it will be may long at least for open water. There have been reports for weeks about an extension being needed on the northern lakes.

Because the access points on and off get sketchy at this time of the year?

I did, I was a bit to the West where the shacks are. Best action was 7-8:30 in the morning, auger extension was needed. Access was good but was getting a little rutted up at shore.....
